Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 32 has won the All India Competition on Innovative Practices and Experiments in Education for Schools and Teacher Education Institutions for the year 2010 organised by the National Council of Education Research and Training, New Delhi. The school team comprising of three members- Darshanjit Singh, Principal; Arun Kumar Sharma, Project Co-ordinator (Lecturer in History) and Shakha Rani, Member which successfully conducted an innovative study / project on Open-ended Approach for Learning History at Senior Secondary Level. This was the only senior secondary school from the northern region including the states of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh which was short-listed and invited for the National Seminar in April, 2011 at NCERT, New Delhi.
